Nonno's Serivce Flag

Nonno's Serivce Flag

Back in May of 2009 the house Vince was living at in Texas caught fire.

The structure was a total loss.    Thank GOD that Vinny his dog Drake

and his roommate's dog all got out safely.

Had it not been for the neighbors who came pounding on the door alerting

Vince to the fire, the outcome could have been way different.

I bless those unknown folks so very often. !!!!

In the home was the service flag that Vince's grandmother,

Grandma Dotty gave him after his grandfather Mario's funeral in 2004.

Nonno, as the kids call him in Italian, served in the Navy during WW11.

He was a medic attached to a Marine unit.

I do believe that God, and Nonno were watching over Vinny that day.

The flag was spared any damage at all........ WHAT A MIRACLE !!!!!

It was in this same flag case and there it was totally fine. !!!

Vince brought the flag to Ohio last October.   It stayed at his Dad

Mark's house for the year.    Today I took this photo of it to share.

Vinny will soon be packing it up for his trip tomorrow out to his

new base in Colorado.

Even though technically he was my ex father-in-law, Nonno was and will

always be so special in my heart.

Thank you Nonno for watching over YOUR Vincent Bruno ... your only

grandson.    Please continue to stay near him.

With Love,

All is Well

All is Well

By Henry Scott-Holland (1847-1918)

All is well.
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.

All is well.
