Charla Nash - Woman Mauled by Chimpanzee

Steve Nash and Michael Nash, the twin brother of a woman
mauled by a 200-pound chimpanzee in Stamford Connecticut in
mid February appeared on the Today show, today.     Charla is 55.

The brothers said she is making progress.     They said that she has
been told she had an accident, but they don't know if she is aware
of exactly what happened to her.

She is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic here in Ohio.

She lost her hands, nose, lips and eyelids in the attack, and it was released
that she will be permanently blind in both eyes.
Police said the attack lasted for 12 minutes and that
responding officers, who could not discern whether Nash was
a man or woman, said, "He has no face."

Steve Nash commented today how very important the cards and notes
she has received from total strangers mean to
their sister, and their family.

Charla has a 17 year old daughter, Brianna.     Steve said that Brianna
is heading to Cleveland on Spring break next week.     Could you imagine
how uplifting it would be for her daughter to see LOTS of cards sent
to her Mom ?

I went and located the mailing address.   Email is nice, but
please consider dropping a SNAIL MAIL card to Charla.

HI RoK,
She is actually still in the hospital here. I imagine her healing is a slow process.
Our local news covered that her daughter was in to visit her last weekend, and her daughter spoke to the media at that time. It sure is a whole lot for a young person to go through, having your Mom in this condition. I think her dtr is either 17 or 18.
Thanks for dropping by...

Today, the news says Charla Nash, went out on national TV to show herself out on public and to warn the people that exotic animals should never stay in residential areas and make them as pets. I admire Nash for her strength & courage. I'm hoping that she will be able to receive continuous love, support & concern for a long, long time.

Hello,
Thanks for the comment. I did happen to
see that on the news.
I also read a story questioning IF Oprah should
have asked Charla to reveal her face.
I agree with you on her 'strength and courage'.
It took both to make her face known in public.
I think the interview was great.
I had a personal thank you in snail mail for my
card to her. WOW !!!
Thanks again for your comment.
