The Secrets We'll Learn When Trump Dies

Posting this on November 3, 2026 - Midterm election day in the USA ....
GOD HELP US ALL.

Political strategist and Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson wrote this  about
Donald Trump in his September 2025 Substack piece titled
"The Secrets We'll Learn When Trump Dies"

“History is a brutal archivist.

It doesn’t care about the troll farms bleating MAGA agitprop in unison, the merch, the religious ecstasy of the cult, the turgid lies of Fox News, or the endless gaslighting that defined the Trump era.

History is patient. It waits.

And when Donald Trump finally departs this mortal coil, what will remain is not the branding, not the rallies, not the cheap gilded iconography of an authoritarian con man.

What will remain are the truths, the things pried loose from the vaults, whispered by aides and former allies freed of fear, revealed in the unsealed files and brutal footnotes of a regime built on corruption, cowardice, and cult adoration.

We will learn more than we want to know. Trump’s greatest addiction wasn’t money, women, or even attention. With age, it all faded down to power. He didn’t care about policy, governance, or even ideology. His only interest was control, the ability to bend others to his will, to humiliate everyone around him, for force good men and women to become bad, and bad men and women to become worse.

History will record how far that obsession went, how much he twisted the machinery of the American Republic into a personal tool for revenge, hate, and control. We’ll see in the records and, slowly at first, then in a torrent, how many people around him knew he was unfit, incompetent, or outright compromised…and stayed silent. Future historians will uncover the memos, the back channel texts, the Signal chats, the cabinet notes where his inner circle admitted what we already knew: that Trump was a demented child with nuclear codes.

They’ll find the conversations about how generals tiptoed around him, how his own aides ran “adult daycare” operations to keep him from detonating international crises. And they’ll marvel that a once-great political party surrendered its dignity and survival to appease a man whose mind was never more than a ticker tape of resentments and roaring ego need.

We’ll learn about the staggering depths of his blistering pig-ignorance about everything. He will be revealed to even his adoring fans as a man with absolutely no knowledge of anything. He’s evil Chauncey Gardnier, a man who lived and died believing the flickering light of television was the only world that mattered. His hatred of expertise and experts is the hatred of a man who knows nothing, has no desire to learn, and is a subliterate boob.

The rot will look bottomless when fully unearthed. The Trumpcoin scams, the garbage social media platform, the grifty deals with foreign powers, the bribes for pardons…all of it will be seen for what it is; a criminal enterprise, a mobster bustout of an entire nation. History will learn about the shell companies, the overseas accounts, the backroom deals where American policy was auctioned off like a Mar-a-Lago dinner table.

There will be moments, documented in black and white, where Trump sold out American interests for personal gain. Not just rumors, not just speculation. Bank transfers, offshore entities, diplomatic favors traded. The Saudis didn’t buy floors of condos in Trump buildings because they loved the wallpaper. The Emiratis didn’t make deals for Trump resorts because they lacked high-end properties. They bought access, favors, and policy. The Russians didn’t launder money through his towers because he was a financial genius. They did it because he was for sale. And someday, we will know the price tag on America.

One of history’s great riddles will be how the Republican Party, once home to Reagan, Bush, Eisenhower, and even the occasional serious legislator, was conquered by a game show host. But the answer is simpler than the spineless senators will ever admit: cowardice and ambition. Oh, many of today’s MAGA stalwarts will tell tall tales of their ostensibly fierce resistance - behind the scenes, of course - to Trump. The rewrite won’t hold. They’ll whisper how it could have been so much worse and the victims of his tyranny will march them to the same dustbin of history to which Trump belongs.

History knows.

They’ll try every trick to rewrite their sins into virtues, despite the ugly public record of how quickly and willingly they gave in to evil. They’ll recount the private contempt of McConnell, the whispered doubts of McCarthy, the silent prayers of Pence. They’ll even try to sell a picture of a deeply principled but saintly Mike Johnson resisting Trump’s worst impulses. Lindsay Graham and Marco Rubio will race back to respectability, to find the doors to that world locked forever.

History will not be kind to the men and women who knew better but chose loyalty to Trump over loyalty to country. The party became a cult because no one was willing to say “enough.” Every one of his enablers sat meekly or cheered loudly when he shredded the Constitution, put troops in our streets, burned down American tradition and honor.

Future generations will read the internal strategy memos where the GOP consultants admitted that hate, rage and lies worked better than truth. They’ll learn how the donor class funded a grift that hollowed out a party into a vessel for one man’s ego. And the lesson will be plain: the Republican Party died not by murder, but by suicide.

The Kremlin files will open someday, a new Mitrokhin Archive. and when they do, the story will be worse than we think. History will learn exactly how far the kompromat went, how deep the financial ties ran, and how much Putin invested in his orange asset

We’ll learn whether Trump was merely a useful idiot or something darker. To be sure, he didn’t have to be an agent to serve Moscow’s interests; he publicly humiliated American to empower the most evil dictator in Europe since Hitler. The intelligence assessments hidden away in classified vaults will emerge, and they will spell out what we suspected all along: that Trump’s foreign policy was not “America First,” it was Russia First. His hostility to NATO, his obsession with Ukraine, his endless admiration for Putin, none of it will look accidental once the receipts are public.

And the shame will echo for generations.

History is also cruel about secrets of the flesh. Jeffrey Epstein’s web of power, blackmail, and sexual exploitation reached deep into America’s elite, and we’ll learn Trump was in the thick of it. The DOJ’s illegal Epstein coverup and corrupt pardon of Ghislaine Maxwell will unravel, and by the end, Pam Bondi, Todd Blanche, Kash Patel, and Dan Bongino will be in prison.

When Trump dies, people will talk. The survivors, the silenced, the insiders who knew too much will finally speak.

And it will be ugly.

Epstein was a horrific fiend and Trump was his close friend. We’ll know more than we want. And as with everything else in Trump’s life, the story will not be one of innocence. The greatest revelations, though, may be the ones we aren’t expecting.

History has a way of peeling back layers we didn’t even know existed. Perhaps it will be medical secrets of the “perfect physical specimen.” His staged checkups are obvious lies. We’ll learn his cardiac and mental decline was charted in careful, hidden memos. We may discover secret recordings, handwritten notes, or emails showing his contempt for his own followers, mocking the very people who cheered him as their messiah. Or perhaps we’ll learn of plots barely avoided, orders given and ignored, schemes that, if carried out, would have plunged America into chaos.

It will be worse than we think. It always is.

When Donald Trump dies, the myth will begin to decay almost instantly. His cult will keep the flame alive for a while, but the records will outlive the rally faithful. History will not remember him as a king, or a savior. History will remember him as a small, ugly, sick man who happened to seize great power, who wielded it recklessly, and who left behind a trail of destruction, corruption and cowardice unmatched in American history.

And history will record what we the living already know in our bones: that he was the most corrupt, most compromised, and most dangerous man ever to hold the presidency. There was never good in his heart or his mind.

The final lesson will be as simple as it is devastating: America wasn’t brought low by an enemy from abroad, but by the weakness, hatreds, and imaginary grievances of millions of our fellow citizens, juiced by billions in corrupt money and a vast architecture of manipulation courtesy of the tech overlords in Silicon Valley.

He’s not dead at this writing, but the time is coming.

Be ready for a first draft of history.”
