To Do

Take out the garbage
dust
water it
add fertilizer

Does this sound like a TO DO list around the house?

Actually it’s a TO DO list for my mind.

Cement once set, becomes like stone.
Don’t let your mind become SET like stone.

Water, spirit, and air are fluid substances.
Gently guide your mind to stay fluid and able to
absorb different thoughts.

Think in terms of flexible, changeable.

This ability comes quite naturally to children.
They are not weighted down by STUFF.

If you have been an adult for many years,
this will not come naturally, but with
practice you can keep your mind open ~ ~ ~ ~

Imagine your mind as a flourishing, lush green garden.

Practice forgiveness, that's how we weed our minds.

After I wrote TO DO this morning, I came across this quote. I thought it was well worth sharing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All our lives long, every day and every hour we are engaged in the process of accommodating our changed and unchanged selves to changed and unchanged surroundings; living, in fact, is nothing less than this process of accommodation; when we fail in it a little we are stupid, when we fail flagrantly we are mad, when we suspend it temporarily we sleep, when we give up the attempt altogether we die.
-Samuel Butler,
The Way of All Flesh
